Lars is today a partner at Yggdrasil. There, he is responsible for the setup of electricity trading activities in three continents as well as the continuous development of Yggdrasil as a whole. The company trades electricity based on the daily weather situation, especially based on wind and solar forecasts. Lars started in 2019 and is employee number 4 of Yggdrasil, whereas the company will trade close to 10 TWh in 2022 with only 20 employees.
Lars started his career in energy trading in 2010 at what today is called Centrica Energy Trading. From humble beginnings as a power trader and originator, was stationed both in Aalborg, Denmark and in London. Until 2018, he was responsible for energy trading, certificate trading, PPA negotiations as well as adding new market areas.
WIth the growth of Yggdrasil and the background in both trading as well as PPAs, Lars is ideally placed to demystify what Trading Desks are, how they manage risks, what their potential profitability is and how they could potentially contribute to a sustainable energy strategy for energy buyers, IPPS, Renewable Asset Owners and other entities with exposure to the power market.
