Alan Smallwood

: Alan joined Gore Street Capital as a Principal in March 2024 to focus on the company’s trading activities. He brings over 15 years of experience in energy market optimisation across a variety of roles at Centrica, where he applied mathematical and technical expertise to building long-term energy fundamental models covering electricity trading in Great Britain, European carbon, and global gas and coal. Alan moved into the battery energy storage market in 2020 when he joined Anesco as the Director of Optimisation to set up a new business unit offering a specialised battery-focussed route-to-market service for asset owners. He will now lead work within the company’s commercial team to further monetise the growing portfolio under management. Alan graduated from the University of York with a Masters in Mathematics, specialising in quantum mechanics and relativity theory, achieving a First with Distinction.
