Andrew Dobbie

Andy Dobbie is the Head of Energy Security Modelling in the Electricity System Operator, responsible for leading modelling teams with a particular focus on security of energy supply. This covers all time horizons including shorter-term seasonal outlooks, recommendations to Government on the GB electricity capacity market and also looking further out into the 2030s, for which understanding weather patterns will become increasingly important. Prior to this, Andy led modelling teams responsible for developing scenarios for electricity supply in the ESO’s Future Energy Scenarios and worked for National Grid Gas System Operator developing models to enhance gas demand forecasting.
