David Abbott
David is a finance leader in the low carbon and infrastructure industry, responsible for ensuring delivery of £2bn investment in renewable energy. The programme includes physical corporate and behind the meter renewable projects as well as innovation in wider power systems and battery storage. Projects will power trains, light stations and make the railway safer.
Previously to Network Rail, David was finance and development directors with RATP Dev, Arriva (Deutsche Bahn), John Laing and KPMG; and has advised local and central government, corporates and financial investors on infrastructure, property and energy projects.
A Sloan Fellow in strategy from the globally leading London Business School, he is also a chartered accountant. A visiting lecturer at the George Washington University (USA) and UCL (UK), he speaks at rail, decarbonisation and Infrastructure finance conferences, and advises Innovate UK on the application of technology in the transport, low carbon, built environment and energy sectors.
