Nick Heyward
Nick has been at the leading edge of the UK energy storage market from its early stages, and was responsible for leading Europe’s first large-scale Lithium-Ion storage project in Leighton Buzzard for UK Power Networks from 2013. The 10MWh project published formative work that shaped the nascent UK storage market and informed regulatory and commercial barriers in the GB system. Nick went on to head up a successful development business within Origami Energy, originating & developing several large-scale front and behind meter projects.
Nick now currently leads development of new market-access and optimisation services for energy-storage as Head of Storage for Statkraft Markets. This has included launching Statkraft’s route-to-market and trading services offering for energy storage projects in Ireland, where Statkraft now has leading market share, and structuring optimisation & PPA deals for the UK’s first co-located hybrid Battery and PV projects.
