Alan Somerville

Alan is responsible for ESG strategy & performance across our listed and private funds. He spent the first half of his career in real estate investment & development with international property company Grosvenor. He has specialised in sustainability & ESG for the last 15 years.

He set up and was head of Energy, Infrastructure & Sustainability advisory services for global real estate services firm Cushman & Wakefield for the EMEA region. During this time, he advised global investors & occupiers on strategy development and implementation. Subsequently he undertook a global role with BRE (building research establishment), leading operational teams in Europe, US & China to update & embed the real estate sustainability products of the business including BREEAM.

Alan is a Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts. He is a regular consultee by government on evolving ESG regulation.
